The goal of Energy Star is to help both homeowners and businesses save money and protect the environment through energy efficient products and practices. The Energy Star is a national mark of excellence in energy performance. Owners that pursue it can be proud to know that their facility has a smaller carbon footprint.

 The program provides recommendations for new homes, home improvement products and commercial buildings and plants.  New homes and commercial buildings may earn the Energy Star certification and products may earn an Energy Star label. 

Energy Star certification distinguishes a firm’s commitment to energy efficient design and is required for participation in the Energy Star Challenge, a program for organizations that are committed to constructing new or renovated buildings with energy efficient performance standards.
