Our Building - 4940 Building

The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) rating system is an internationally recognized green building certification program. It sets industry-wide standards for design, construction and operation of high performance green buildings to produce reduced energy consumption and environmental impact. By using less energy and water, LEED certified buildings save money, reduce greenhouse gas emissions and contribute to a healthier environment for residents.

Created by the U.S. Green Building Council, (USGBC), The LEED system requires buildings to meet standards for energy savings, water efficiency, CO2 emissions reduction, improved indoor environmental quality and eco-friendly resources. The LEED performance criteria can be applied to any building type and in any building lifecycle phase. Projects are awarded based on a point-based rating scale. The Morrissey Engineering 4940 Building received 56 points out a total of 69 points.
