Offutt Air Force Base Housing Privatization

Morrissey Engineering, a partner with Holland Basham Architects and America First Communities development team, was recently awarded the Offutt Air Force Base Family Housing Privatization project. The project consists of:
- 6 year development period
- 635 acres of land
- 2,600 existing housing units which have been conveyed to the development team
The end state inventory will have 1,640 total military family homes consisting of 914 new units and 726 renovated units, including 26 historical units.
Improvements to the community will include a new thoroughfare in the Capehart neighborhood, a community center, additional recreational spaces and new paths throughout the neighborhood. Demolition of outdated six- and eigth-plex units has begun to make way for new duplex style housing units to be built beginning in 2007.
The overall plan for the community will be completed in phases and consists of a combination of newly constructed homes blended with upgrades and renovations of existing homes.
