The Lied Greenhouse & Pavilion, located in Nebraska City, is a 9,000 square foot greenhouse and visitor center. The greenhouse and visitors center are used to educate guests about trees through interactive, hands-on, and entertaining exhibits.

Morrissey Engineering had the privilege of enhancing The Arbor Day Farm by providing mechanical and electrical design services for the new 4,500 sqft. greenhouse and 4,500 sqft. Pavilion. The greenhouse features radiant heating, heating water boiler system, and evaporative cooling system. The visitors' center includes an indoor interactive forest, complete with the sounds of birds, streams, and storms; and a theater with theatrical dimming control programmed to enhance the exhibit.

Morrissey Engineering was responsible for designing the HVAC and plumbing systems, electrical systems including lighting, power, fire alarm, and audio/visual in both the greenhouse and Pavilion.

Morrissey Engineering also designed the site lighting for the areas adjacent to the buildings and parking.

Morrissey Engineering was also involved in designing the remodel to Kimmel Research Center Apple House. The project included remodeling the existing 6,700 square foot production and retail space, and the addition of a new 6,100 square foot research area.

Our responsibilities included designing the HVAC and plumbing systems, electrical systems including lighting, power, fire alarm, and lightning protection.
