Wells Fargo Data Center
Des Moines, IA
Morrissey Engineering designed an upgrade to Wells Fargo Financial Data Center in Downtown Des Moines. The existing facility included 10,000 SF raised floor with design concepts not consistent with today's computing environment. Wells Fargo wanted to gain more use of their data center for business acquisitions and growth.
Morrissey Engineering provided a masterplan for improvements which included:
•UPS Replacement & Capacity Doubling – (2) 500KVA Systems & (1) 1000KVA system
•Generator Upgrade and Reconfiguration – (1) 2000KW, (1) 1250 Generator
•Electrical Service Upgrade and Reconfiguration – Dedicated 3000A & 2000A Services
•New Chillers – (2) 200 Ton Frictionless Chillers
•Revision to CRAC Unit Arrangement – Plenum Ducting
•Implementation of High Density Cooling Techniques for Blade Server Applications.
Implementing these recommendations will result in a 100 w/SF equipment density capacity across the entire floor with redundant components. This $6 Million MEP upgrade to Tier 3 was completed in December 2009.
