Morrissey Engineering - Summary of IAQ testing for Dynamic Plaque

 

The testing methods and parameters were as follows:

 

For TVOC, a reading of less than 500 ug/M3 (micro-grams per cubic meter) is required per LEED© using EPA compendium methods. Environmental Quality Experts engaged the use of summa canisters to collect air samples of the main office space and tenant space on 4/22/2015 with a separate canister for each space tested. The samples were collected over a period of 4 hours,  at a height of 3-6 feet from the finished floor (breathing space), during normal occupied hours and while ventilation systems were running in normal occupied mode. After collection, the samples were sent to Centek Laboratories in Syracuse, NY with full chain of custody. The lab then analysed the air contained in the summa canisters utilizing the TO-15 method and reported  back results to Environmental Quality Experts.

For testing CO2 for Indoor Air Quality parameters, Environmental Quality Experts engaged the use of calibrated electrochemical sensors set at 0-2000 ppm contained in a certified indoor air quality testing monitor. The samples were collected in real time on 4/24/2015 in the main office space and the tenant space. With this method, the air samples are immediately run over the sensors contained in the monitor and provide real time results in the form of statistical data and a time dated graph for the duration of 4 hours. This testing is also performed at a height of 3-6 feet above the finished floor (breathing zone), during normal occupied hours and while ventilation systems are running in normal occupied mode.

Environmental quality Experts will consolidate the two reporting methods in to one report for Morrissey Engineering to submit to LEED on-line© to help achieve the LEED Dynamic Plaque.
