Consulting Engineers have often considered themselves generalists with a good basic knowledge of the systems that they specify.  More and more though, our clients need a deeper understanding from us in order to create the best buildings possible.

The U.S. Green Building Council is calling for nominations for the 2010 USGBC Leadership Awards. Award nominees should embody the attributes expected of a green building leader and achievements that demonstrate excellence, exemplify the intent and spirit of the green building movement, and have made a significant impact in advancing the green building movement within their sector. Nominate a peer.

The U.S. Green Building Council's mission of environmentally, economically and socially sustainable buildings for all within a generation depends on highly trained professionals in every sector. The USGBC is requesting your input in a brief survey that will help us identify and understand your green building education needs. The information you provide will drive both the content and format of tomorrow's green building education - from USGBC or the green building education marketplace at large - so that it is accessible and relevant for everyone. Take the survey.

Morrissey Engineering has begun commissioning of a 5.5 kW solar electric system on the roof of its 4940 Building.  The system converts sunlight to electric power using Sanyo photovoltaic modules.
