MEI Now a WELL Performance Testing Organization

Morrissey Engineering to Offer WELL Performance Testing for Projects Pursuing the WELL Building Standard

(OMAHA, December 26, 2019) – Morrissey Engineering is proud to announce that as a WELL Performance Testing Organization, it will now offer air, water, light, thermal comfort, and sound testing services to projects pursuing WELL Certification. In addition, Morrissey Engineering will leverage its expertise to help organizations, developers and building owners understand how their spaces are performing and the impact on occupant health and well-being.

WELL Performance Testing Organizations provide performance testing services to WELL v2 projects. Overall, performance testing includes the evaluation of 67 distinct performance indicators while on the project site, requiring over 20 types of tests to be performed and using 10 or more types of equipment.

The WELL Building Standard was developed by the International WELL Building Institute to improve global health by transforming the spaces where people spend their lives. Drawing on technically robust, evidence-based research from the scientific community and medical practitioners, this third-party point-based rating system awards projects with certification at either Silver, Gold or Platinum level and includes post-occupancy Performance Testing as a standard path to certification.

Morrissey Engineering has WELL Performance Testing Agents, WELL Accredited Professionals, and WELL Faculty on staff, placing it among a group of leading professionals who are dedicated to supporting human health and well-being in the built environment.

“Supporting the WELL rating system with testing services aligns with our firm’s commitment to creating buildings that provide a spectacular experience to their occupants.” says George Morrissey, founder and principal. “These services demonstrate our dedication to proven performance and supporting ongoing building operation.”

The WELL Building Standard is focused exclusively on the ways that buildings and communities, and everything in them, can improve our comfort, drive better choices, and generally enhance, not compromise, our health and wellness. Performance verification ensures that the space is not only designed for health, but that it is actually performing as intended.
