Features
The Wellness Center at Howard County Medical Center in St. Paul, Nebraska, is a 17,000-square-foot facility designed to promote health, healing, and community well-being through thoughtfully integrated building systems and modern amenities. Morrissey Engineering partnered closely with the St. Paul community to deliver comprehensive mechanical, electrical, lighting, plumbing, and fire protection design, focusing on solutions that balance performance, efficiency, and long-term value.

The design emphasizes cost-conscious, high-performance systems that enhance energy efficiency and sustainability while creating a comfortable, welcoming environment for users of all ages. From the indoor pool and walking track to the group exercise spaces, building systems were carefully coordinated to support both active recreation and everyday wellness activities.

A key component of the facility is the expanded physical therapy department, which includes pediatric rehabilitation rooms, enlarged exam spaces, and dedicated offices to support staff and patient care. These areas were designed with precision to meet the unique environmental, safety, and operational needs of healthcare services, ensuring reliability and flexibility for future growth.

Completed in 2024, this new construction project reflects a commitment to creating a resilient, community-focused wellness destination, one that supports healthier lifestyles while serving as a vital resource for the region for years to come.
