Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Low-Voltage Designer to join our engineering team. In this role, you will develop low-voltage technology system designs for commercial construction projects, including telecommunications, security, and audiovisual systems. You will collaborate closely with engineers, architects, and clients to create detailed design documents that support the integration of advanced building technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design low-voltage technology systems using AutoCAD and Revit for commercial building projects.

  • Develop telecommunications designs including IT room layouts, rack configurations, cabling pathways, and infrastructure.

  • Create security system designs featuring access control, video surveillance, and intrusion detection.

  • Develop audiovisual system layouts including AV racks, sound reinforcement, video displays, and AV control systems.

  • Review shop drawings and construction documents for accuracy and compliance.

  • Conduct site visits for field investigations and project assessments.

  • Collaborate with clients, project teams, and other design professionals throughout project phases.

  • Manage multiple projects at various stages simultaneously.

Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in drafting technology, electrical engineering, or a related field.

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in low-voltage system design for commercial buildings is preferred.

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit software.

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to work independently or within a team.

  • Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and grow professionally.

  • Certifications such as BICSI RCDD, AVIXA CTS, or ASIS PSP are a plus but not required.
