Features
St. Bernadette's Catholic Church, with seating for over 600—including a choir loft and family room—recently underwent a significant transformation of its sanctuary.
Morrissey Engineering delivered comprehensive mechanical, electrical, lighting, and technology design services, creating high-performance building systems that maximize occupant comfort, boost energy efficiency, and ensure long-term reliability.
Renovations to the mid-century sanctuary began in fall 2025. The MEP systems were seamlessly integrated with the existing HVAC infrastructure, leveraging advanced zoning and controls to optimize thermal comfort and minimize energy consumption. High-efficiency and theatrical lighting, featuring LED fixtures and intelligent controls, not only complemented the architectural redesign of liturgical elements but also reduced both energy consumption and maintenance costs.
The revitalized space elevates worship and community experiences while enhancing the adjoining school. The result is a cohesive, forward-looking parish environment that thoughtfully balances tradition and innovation through careful MEP design and a strong commitment to historical preservation.
